Really great to meet yourselves today! Love the blog & website here – cracking pictures of the bittern.
Turns out I’m back there tomorrow – a couple of friends at church have been keen to go and the weather looks good.
Re your wishing to see SEOs… a good site to look at is http://birdingsglos.blogspot.com/ which refers to the place James was referring to. You probably know the Gloster Birder site http://www.birder.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ but it’s worth a look as there are a number of places around here that have regular SEOs at the moment. Not sure why there are so many at the moment.
Tuesday was great for the weather but less good for the birds… though one or two decent snaps for the blog!
The church in Martley is in a great location, and there are a couple of good birding sites not too far away! However I don’t start there until July… so I’m planning on improving my woodland bird spotting this spring!
Hi Duncan, good to finally meet you tonight. Been checking the camera footage and had a result at about 1am! I think the site is fantastic. You need anything, we’re across the road!

Hi,
Lovely to finally meet you too! Glad you like the website and that you got to see one. They normally start appearing at about 20:30 and stay most of the night. The last one left at 6:50 this morning!
Hello, I saw little Zoe scooting about collecting leaves tonight – 4 Dec – and I think what would help curb her wandering star would be mealworms all round and inside the hallway of the box. I know hogs fatten up on mealworms so she’ll feel cosier and the foxes won’t eat them. (just saw a cat sticking its nose in the box there, 7:22am, and it’s woken her)
Hi, she was busy last night π hoping this is the final bit before settling down. I’ve been putting mealworms everywhere for her, but it doesn’t seem to have helped! No other hogs around now, she’s the last. This is a different box, she seems to have switched at the last minute, so hopefully this is it !
Hello after a particular shot of a hedgehog to paint from; I have an image but need your help to see if I can get a similar shot but with more detail of the hog.. please can you email me?, many thanks

Nice to meet you too. Glad you like the blog, going to add loads this year, big plans!
Love the look of your church!
Thanks for info on SEOs, went where we thought it was on the way home but I wasn’t sure.
Have a good time there tomorrow, hopefully you’ll get some more birds.

A little fox visited at about 2am.
Cool. Had gone to bed by then π hogs are quiet tonight, not many around in this rain
I love hedgehog cams, thanks so much for doing this π
My pleasure, glad you enjoy them π

Wow! Great roosting box! I wonder if they roost in our nest box? We’ve seen Blue and Great Tits inspecting it during the day……
Thanks π They may well do! If you watch it as its going dark, you may see it go in, or get a cam in it π
Hi Duncan, see you have a roosting Blue Tit like me. Dave
She’s a little cutie π they’ve nested in there last couple of years too. Been in there since November.
Great to see hedgehogs out and the Blue Tit looks so snug in there!
It’s nice to see them back π hoping the blue tit nests there!
The colour camera in the hedgehog feeding station is excellent!
